11 US Equestrian Open Dressage Riders to Watch at Aachen 2026

They ride for five nations, from the sport's most decorated Olympian to a first-year senior. All eleven spent this season in the US Equestrian Open, and all eleven are now at the FEI World Championships.

The 2026 FEI World Championships open in Aachen, Germany, on August 11, and eleven riders from this season's US Equestrian Open of Dressage will be in the arena. They compete under five flags, and the group runs from the most decorated equestrian in Olympic history to riders in their first seasons at the top level. Here is the full list, where each one stands in the Series, and how to follow along.

How to Watch
Grand Prix Tuesday, August 11 and Wednesday, August 12
Grand Prix Special Friday, August 14
Grand Prix Freestyle Saturday, August 15, evening

Start times run on Central European Summer Time. The Grand Prix days begin around 2:00 a.m. Eastern, the Special at 4:50 a.m. Eastern, and the Freestyle at 1:00 p.m. Eastern.

The championship dressage format consists of three tests, but not everyone will be afforded the opportunity to ride each one. Every combination rides the Grand Prix first. It sets the team result and decides who advances. The top thirty move to the Grand Prix Special, a more exacting run through the same movements, with its own set of individual medals. The top eighteen from the Special reach the Grand Prix Freestyle, ridden to music, with no more than three riders per country. The Freestyle is the sport's highlight and the final medal of the discipline.

She has spent the summer competing in Europe ahead of Aachen, with a runner-up finish at the Hartpury Festival of Dressage along the way.
