Luke 140

Luke 140 owns two of the 11. He won at Galway Downs in October 2020 and at Jersey Fresh in May 2021.

The 15-year-old came back from colic surgery and a long rehab to win The Fork CCI4*-S on September 11, his first run of 2026. Martin led the dressage on 26.7. Nobody made the cross-country time, and Luke 140 added 13.6 to win on 40.3.

His Elo of 680 is second in the field, behind only Off The Record. His expected show jumping score of 1.6 is the best in the field, and he is 4/4 clear in the show jumping at CCI4*-L and CCI5*. Martin is 3/3 clear inside the time in the Morven show jumping. Speed is the soft spot: Luke 140 has has double digit time penalties in his last 6 completed cross-country courses.

The EquiRatings Prediction Centre gives him an 18% win chance, second only to Off The Record on 27%. He is 40% to finish in the top three and 74% to finish in the top 10.

A twelfth CCI4*-L win would put Martin two clear of the rest of the world.
