The horses left before the riders did. Across the last week the US strings loaded up, flew, and landed, and the teams behind them documented every step of it.
The Championships open on 11 August. The eventing runs 13 to 16 August.
@usaeventing US Equestrian has announced a substitution for the Defender #USAEventing Squad ahead of the 2026 FEI Eventing World Championships. Phillip Dutton has formally withdrawn Possante, who will now be replaced by Dutton’s other mount, Denim.
Phillip Dutton says Possante will make a full recovery, just not in time, and passed his sympathies to the horse’s owners. He goes to Aachen on Denim instead.

Keenan Takes Two in Dinard

Lillie Keenan & Kick On won the CSI5* Prix Mars & Co at the Jumping International de Dinard on Friday, the 1.55m feature class of the day. Penultimate to return in the jump-off, Keenan stopped the clock in 38.75 seconds.
The 1.55m was Keenan's second win of the afternoon. She had already taken the 1.45m Cordon Group Prize, a speed class, on her gelding Emerlon in 62.12 seconds. Keenan went on to finish 10th with Kick On in the Grand Prix on Sunday.

Dressage
By the Numbers: The 2026 Season So Far

The summer break is a good time to take stock. Most of the qualifying season is done, and with two qualifiers still to come, it has already been a busy one. The season has produced 116 freestyles across 22 shows and nine venues, ridden by 57 riders on 61 horses.
The season has scored well, too. The average score sits just above 72 percent, and three of every four freestyles broke 70. One in four cleared 75. Three rides have reached 80.
The high was Isabell Werth's 82.660 in Wellington. The low was 60.910. Everything else fell somewhere in between.

The series picks back up at Dressage at Devon in late September, the first of the two remaining qualifiers before the Final. There is dressage to watch before then. The FEI World Championships open next week on August 11, with five of the top 15 US Equestrian Open of Dressage riders competing.
