Morven Park's Champions: A Look At The Hall Of Fame

Morven Park has run a CCI4*-L every year since 2021. Last year it became the home of the US Equestrian Open of Eventing Final. As the 2026 Final approaches, here is how the five winners earned their place in the venue's hall of fame.

For Phillip Dutton & Quasi Cool, 2021 was the year. The pair won three international events in the one season, and they were their only three wins as a combination: a CCI3*-S, a CCI4*-S and, to finish, the first CCI4*-L at Morven Park.

They sat joint second after dressage on 29.8, behind Buck Davidson & Cooley Candyman. Dutton added less time across country than Davidson and won on 34.2. Davidson finished second, and took third with Sorocaima, who is entered again this year.

The chestnut mare Solaguayre California was 11 and running only her second CCI4*-L when she and Tamie Smith won. Second after dressage on 29.3, they added 0.4 time penalties, one second, across both jumping phases and won on 29.7.

It was Smith's second CCI4*-L win, seven years after her first at Fair Hill with Mai Baum. The overnight leaders, Sharon White & Claus 63, were eliminated cross-country. That pair are entered again this year.

Boyd Martin & Commando 3 are still the only combination to win at Morven Park from the front after dressage. They led on 26.2, added 3.2 cross country time penalties and jumped clear to finish on 29.4.

Commando 3 went on to finish on two CCI5* podiums in 2025 (2nd at Kentucky and 3rd at Maryland). Martin had his first Morven Park CCI4*-L title. He would add a second two years later. After some time off, Commando 3 returns to Morven Park in the CCI4*-S this year.

Julie Wolfert & SSH Playboy made the biggest climb of any winner at the venue. Sixth after dressage on 34.5, they went double clear across both jumping phases and finished on their dressage score.

They remain the only winners to finish on their dressage score at Morven Park. It was Wolfert's third CCI4*-L start, all with SSH Playboy, and her first win at the level. They returned to top-level competition this year after time off with a broken fetlock and won the US Open leg that ran at Rebecca Farm.

Boyd Martin & Miks Master C won the first US Equestrian Open of Eventing Final by 0.4 of a penalty. Third after dressage on 25.9, they added 2.8 time penalties cross-country and jumped clear. Their 28.7 is the lowest winning score in the venue's history.

Will Coleman & Off The Record (who are entered again this year) led after cross-country, the first Saturday night leader to not go on to win. They had a rail at B of the triple combination and finished second on 29.1. Martin made himself the only two-time winner of this class. He has ridden in two editions at Morven Park and won both.

Five winners. Five different routes to the title. In 13 days, the 2026 US Equestrian Open of Eventing Final will add another name to the list.
