Six Qualifier Winners Head to Morven Park

Seventeen horses won the 20 qualifiers of the 2026 US Equestrian Open of Eventing Series. Six of them are in the field for the Final at Morven Park. Between them they won eight of the 20.

Two of the six won twice. Tamie Smith & Danito took Tryon in May and Twin Rivers in September. Lucienne Bellissimo & Dyri opened the Series at Bouckaert in October 2025 and won again at Stable View in April. The other four won once each.

Here is what each of them brings to Leesburg this week.

01Tamie Smith & Danito
Elo 673  ·  3rd in field  ·  2 Series wins

Danito won Tryon International in May on 27.9. He scored 19.5 in the dressage, the lowest international dressage score in the world in 2026. He jumped clear cross-country with 8.4 time penalties and jumped clear in the show jumping. The High Performance Ratings (HPR) was 98, the highest of any of the six winning rounds in this preview.

The second win came at Twin Rivers Fall International in September, on 46.3 in a six-horse field. That one carried 11.2 cross-country time and eight show jumping faults. Between the two wins, Danito retired on cross-country at Cosequin Lexington Kentucky in April.

At 17, he is the oldest of the six. His 6RA of 25.9 is the best of the group. The final day is the question. From four show jumping starts at CCI4*-L and five-star, Danito has one clear jumping round and none inside the time. Tamie won Morven's CCI4*-L in 2022 with Solaguayre California.

02Lucienne Bellissimo & Dyri
Elo 620  ·  4th in field  ·  2 Series wins

Dyri won Bouckaert International in October 2025 on 41.0, the first qualifier of the 2026 Series. A month later he was second at The Event at TerraNova on 38.2. In April he won Stable View Spring International on 27.7 by finishing on his dressage score and achieveing a HPR of 95.

They have had five Series runs: two wins, a second, a fourth at Stable View Oktoberfest on 43.4, and a cross-country retirement at Tryon in May.

Dyri has a real chance of winning this Final. He knows the course. He was fourth in the Morven Park CCI4*-L in 2023 and second in 2024. He is the fastest of these six cross-country, with a TSP of 94% and an average of 0.7 time penalties. Both of his show jumping starts at CCI4*-L (both at Morven) have been clear inside the time. Lucienne also rides Kitsch Couture HPK who was 5th in last year's Final.

03Mary Bess Davis & Imperio Magic
Elo 568  ·  10th in field  ·  1 Series win

Imperio Magic won Stable View Oktoberfest in September on 39.9. He finished on his dressage score in a field of 21. The HPR was 86.

His last day is the strongest of the six. He has jumped 13 international show jumping rounds in a row clear inside the time, the longest run in the field. It started at Lexington in April 2024 and includes the Lexington five-star in 2025 and the Boekelo CCI4*-L in 2024. All four of his show jumping starts at CCI4*-L and five-star have been clear inside the time. The dressage is the gap. His 6RA of 36.3 is the highest of the group.

Cross-country has been mixed. His XCJ10 is 50%. He picked up 20 jumping penalties at Stable View Spring in April and finished 21st. He was ninth at Carolina International in March on 41.4.

04Boyd Martin & Luke 140
Elo 680  ·  2nd in field  ·  1 Series win

Luke 140 won The Fork at Tryon in September on 40.3, on his first run of the year. He scored 26.7 in the dressage, added 13.6 cross-country time and jumped clear in the show jumping. Sixteen started.

His Elo of 680 is the highest of the six and second in the whole field, behind Off The Record on 793. His XCJ10 is 90%, and his 80% chance of a clear cross-country jumping round is the highest of the group. He has jumped clear in all four of his show jumping starts at CCI4*-L and five-star. The clock costs him. He averages 9.2 cross-country time penalties.

Luke 140 is a two-time CCI4*-L winner. He won at Galway Downs in October 2020 on 31.0 and at Jersey Fresh in May 2021 on 32.4. Those are two of Boyd's 11 wins at the level. Two more came here at Morven Park, with Commando 3 in 2023 and Miks Master C in the 2025 Final. He also rides Fetiche Des Rouges in the Final.

05Laine Ashker & Lovedance
Elo 553  ·  13th in field  ·  1 Series win  ·  CCI4*-L debut

Lovedance won Maryland International in June from 18 starters. In September he was second at Plantation Field International.

He has been strong cross-country, with clear jumping rounds in all five of his Series runs. Morven Park will be his first CCI4*-L. Speed will be the question. He averages 9.9 cross-country time penalties, the most of the six.

Laine rode in the US Equestrian Open of Dressage Final last year. This week at Morven Park, she will become the first rider to compete in both the Dressage and Eventing Finals.

06Caroline Pamukcu & HSH Connor
Elo 467  ·  24th in field  ·  1 Series win

HSH Connor won Bouckaert International in March on 48.6 from 23 starters. He scored 29.8, added 18.8 cross-country time and jumped clear in the show jumping. The HPR was 82.

He is one of the best show jumpers in the field. He has jumped 11 international rounds in a row without a rail, a run that dates back to April 2023. Morven Park will be his first CCI4*-L finish if he gets there.

Cross-country is the question. He has jumpeed clear in 4 of his last 10 starts, which is the lowest of this six. He has run once in the Series since Bouckaert, picking up 20 jumping penalties at Stable View Spring in April and finishing 17th.

Caroline has three horses in the Final: HSH Connor, HSH Tolan King and HSH Sebastian.

Who is missing

Eleven qualifier winners are not coming. Some of the stand out names include Lillet 3, the only other double winner of the 2026 Series, after Carolina International and Cosequin Lexington Kentucky. She competed at the World Championships in Aachen is likely on a break. The other double winner, HSH Double Sixteen, who won at Fair Hill in April was entered until a late withdrawal this week.

The Final runs October 8 to 11 in Leesburg.
